Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat uterine fibroids—non cancerous growths in the uterus. The procedure reduces symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure by cutting off the blood supply to the fibroids, causing them to shrink.

UFE is conducted via a small pinhole incision in the wrist — no invasive surgery, and minimal recovery time expected.

Who is a candidate for UFE?

  • Patients who have symptomatic fibroids or adenomyosis causing heavy bleeding, pain, or pressure.

  • Patients with fibroids looking for a quicker recovery compared to traditional surgery

  • Patients wanting to avoid major surgery such as a hysterectomy or myomectomy, who prefer a procedure with no stitches and no wound

  • Patients who have had one or more surgical fibroid options and symptoms and fibroids have recurred
